WIP: Jan Crochet-a-long with The Crochet Crowd

Very happy to get started on my first crochet challenge hosted by The Crochet Crowd.

I've decided to make this for myself, because I'm learning new stitches and I'd rather keep possible funky looking stuff for myself. I'm using one of my skeins of Caron Simply Soft in Plum Perfect so that it can match my glasses and picked up some blingy buttons for the side that I hope will bring out the bling in my glasses as well.

Hopefully I can get this done quickly. I'm not having a great day so far and it's only 8 am. Lots of pain overnight that kept me from sleeping :(
